Summary

Album Helper does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. All data the extension handles stays on your own computer, in your own browser.

What data is stored locally

The extension uses Chrome's local storage area to save:

Album indexes — the titles and public URLs of photo albums you have viewed on pages you already have access to
UI preferences — whether the sidebar is open, your most recent search query, and similar state
Imported indexes — if you import a JSON index shared by another user, its contents are merged into your local index

This data is stored only on the device where it was created. It is not synced, not backed up to any server, and not accessible to the developer or any third party.

What data is transmitted

The extension makes network requests only in these situations:

Image downloads — when you click a Download button, the extension fetches the image files you selected from Facebook's image servers, using your existing browser session. Files are saved directly to your computer's Downloads folder.

The extension never contacts any server operated by the developer, any analytics service, any advertising network, or any third-party API. There is no tracking, telemetry, crash reporting, or phone-home behaviour of any kind.

What data is NOT collected

Your name, email address, or any account identifiers
Your browsing history beyond what is needed for the sidebar to update when you navigate between album pages
Any information about pages on sites other than facebook.com
Any information about your Chrome profile, other extensions, settings, or bookmarks
Any messages, friends lists, or personal posts

Permissions explained

Permission	Used for
`storage`	Saving your local album index and UI preferences
`downloads`	Saving images you choose to download
`webNavigation`	Detecting in-page navigation so the sidebar can update
`activeTab`	Interacting with the current tab when you click the icon
Host access (facebook.com, fbcdn.net)	Restricting the extension to run only on these domains

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. There is no separate cleanup step, and no data persists after uninstallation.
